Women Empowerment Volunteer Programs in India

Yoga and Adventure Volunteering in India.

There is no doubt that volunteering in India is likely to be one of the most incredible experiences of your life. If you have always wanted to make a real difference to a community that is in need, volunteering with iSpiice is one of the best ways to achieve just that.

However, if you have never volunteered before, it can be confusing to know exactly what is in store for you when you land in your chosen country. In an effort to inform and reassure, we’ve put together this simple guide as to what you can expect from volunteering in India, what kind of volunteering trips and programs are available, and what you may have the opportunity to do with your free time.

What does volunteering entail?

Volunteering in India is dedicated to improving the lives of Indian citizens and helping them to build for a stronger future. At iSpiice, we take sustainability very seriously; we want the work we do to help to provide for communities in the future, as well as alleviating any existing issues.

You will spend your time working through one of our many programs. We allow volunteers to select up to two programs to engage with during their time with us, choosing from the following options:

  • Child education (no teaching qualifications required)
  • Computer literacy
  • Health education (no medical experience required for education; if you are a medical professional and wish to provide direct health care, then this can also be arranged)
  • Women’s empowerment
  • Summer camps for kids
  • Private tutoring to help individual children reach their full potential
  • Renovation and infrastructure work, such as well construction and repair
  • Sports coaching

Our programs allow you to work directly with the local community and make a real impact on the quality of life for the residents. We are sure you will find a program suitable for your talents.

Options outside of volunteering hours.

Absolutely not! We know that volunteers need to have their downtime, both for their own health and so they can recharge their batteries to ensure the work they do in the community is as good as it can possibly be.

When you volunteer with iSpiice, we encourage and assist you in making the most of your free time. If you are looking for yoga and adventure volunteering in India, then we can ensure you make the most of your time with us. Yoga is a very popular discipline in India, and something that many of our volunteers like to partake in, so you should have no problem finding a yoga buddy among your fellow volunteers. We organize day trips to sacred sites and nearby tourist locations, so you can practice yoga in some of the most stunning locations in the world.

Adventure is easy to find, too. We are located in northern India, and offer Himalayan treks as the perfect way to spend your time on the weekends. The Himalayas are the most impressive mountain ranges on earth, and include the tallest mountain on the planet; Mount Everest. Our volunteers can delight themselves in trekking through this stunning landscape and even engaging in winter sports should the opportunity arise.

As we as yoga and adventure volunteering in India, we also offer day trips to some of the most recognizable tourist locations in India. For example, if you want to visit India’s most recognizable tourist destination, the Taj Mahal, then you can simply sign up for one of our simple, well-managed day trips and visit the famous mausoleum for yourself.

Life as a volunteer.

When you are recovering from your volunteer work and planning your next day trip, you will spend much of your time at our dedicated Volunteer House. The house is located in the village of Sidhwari, in northern India, and we go out of our way to ensure it is a pleasant place to spend your time.

We offer separate male and female bedrooms, western toilet facilities, and all meals are cooked on site and enjoyed in a communal eating fashion. There’s Wifi available if you wish to catch up with your friends and family back home, and you’ll love talking with your fellow volunteers, swapping stories, and meeting new friends with whom to explore yoga and adventurous day trips with.

iSpiice know how to combine the hard, beneficial work of volunteering with ensuring that our volunteers have the best possible time with us. If you would like to try one of our programs for yourself, get in touch today and we’ll be delighted to assist you further.
