Haridwar & Rishikesh Pilgrimage Trip
Located in the foothills of the Himalayas, Rishikesh is also known called the Gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas’. Along with Haridwar’ In addition to Haridwar, Rishikesh will be the very first in India to be provided the title of “twin national heritage cities”. Rishikesh is also called the “Yoga Capital of the World”, has numerous yoga centers that attract tourists.
Haridwar, an ancient city, located on the banks of the Ganges River is one of the 7 holiest places according to Hindu religion.
The Ganges, after flowing nearly 23 km from its beginning, gets in the Indo Gangetic plan for the first time at Haridwar. Because of that, Haridwar is additionally known as Gangadwara. Take a journey through this holy city to revitalize your spirituality.
Itinerary what to expect?
- Day 1. (Sunday – Arrival in India)
Pick up from Delhi International Airport at the time of your arrival in India by an iSpiice staff member displaying an iSpiice placard & transfer to a hotel in Delhi. Overnight stay at hotel in Delhi after your long flight to India. (Hotel accommodation is included in price). Please note that you may be sharing your hotel room with a fellow volunteer of same gender (2 volunteer in one room). There is an additional fee for a private room which can be booked prior arrival to India. We usually request our volunteers to book an arrival flight to India on Sunday any time of the day (Pick up timings are available whole Sunday AM TO PM).
- Day 2. (Monday – Delhi to Haridwar) 6 hours by AC Train.
After breakfast you’ll be taken to Haridwar. On arrival at Haridwar check into the hotel. Later we will take you for a sightseeing tour of Haridwar including for lunch & Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight stay at the hotel in Haridwar.
- Day 3. (Tuesday – Haridwar)
After Breakfast we you’ll be taken for a sightseeing tour of Haridwar which includes ashram and temples – Mansa Devi temple, Chandi Devi temple, Maya Devi temple, Daksha Mahadev temple, Sapta Rishi temple and Ramanand ashram. In the evening after sunset will take you to Har ki Pauri to attend the famous Ganga River Aarti. (Ritual) Overnight stay at Haridwar.
Day 4. (Wednesday – Haridwar – Rishikesh – Haridwar)
Wednesday morning after breakfast drive to Rishikesh (approx. 1 hour) on arrival proceed to sightseeing tour of Rishikesh visit Lakshman Jhula, Ram Jhula, Gita Bhawan, evening attend Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan. Later drive back to Haridwar, dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
- Day 5. Thursday – Haridwar to Delhi) Approx 5 hour by AC Train.
Thursday morning after breakfast checkout from hotel & drive back to Delhi to travel further to a project site at Dharamsala with other volunteers by AC train or by AC Volvo bus.
(Please note we may stay Thursday night in Delhi which depends on trains availability & in this case iSpiice will pay for Thursday night accommodation in Delhi along with all transportation)
